Exhibiting on Stand 9.136, Sonifex are featuring a number of new products as well as enhancements to their current range.
Already creating a great deal of interest is the new Net-Log audio logger. Net-Log overcomes the inherent unreliability of PCs for long term recording by providing a dedicated hardware recording platform that uses a simple TCP/IP network connection for audio playback.
Due to be launched at IBC is the new Redbox RB-SP1 Digital Splitter Combiner. This product has two uses - firstly to split or combine the old standard 96kHz (2 x 48kHz XLR) AES/EBU signal into 1 x 96kHz AES/EBU XLR. Secondly, it is used to split the left and right signals of an AES/EBU input to two separate AES/EBU outputs, and vice-versa.
Other new Redboxes that have been added to the range are the Silence Detect Unit, single, dual and quad stereo matching converters, and a single microphone amplifier. The RB-HD6 Headphone amplifier has been modified to provide parallel outputs. Other Redboxes in the range include a sample rate converter, an A/D D/A converter, distribution amplifiers, a balanced to unbalanced bi-directional converter, a stereo limiter and single and dual stereo/mono converters.
Also on display will be the range of Nica-X audio codecs and the ARC Multi-Master ISDN codec switcher and ARC AkCESS operating software.
The Courier digital portable recorder uses PCMCIA flash card as its recording media to record MPEG, BWF or .WAV audio data files, making it infinitely compatible with most of the editing suites available. New enhancements to the Courier digital portable recorder include a USB interface for direct connection to a PC with fast data transfer - over 100 of these units were sold to the BBC local regions recently.
Other products on display include the HY02 telephone hybrids and Sentinel + audio loggers.
